"The Rhythms of
Stone" sculpture workshop is a blend of traditional and
unorthodox techniques combined with the use of simple hand tools. The
program is especially popular with botanical gardens across the country
where the emphasis is on blending sculpture into new or existing landscape
and hardscape design. A refined approach to the expressive qualities of the
human face allow the students to finesse an image from stone, which carries
their unique creative imprint. The program is attended by both artists and
non-artists with many participants having no previous art background. The
program also draws students with a desire to add a three-dimensional piece
to their body of work and those
with an interest in obtaining the professional
development, graduate or undergraduate credits associated with the program.

Mexico and a progressive series from the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California.
