Garrity
who served three tours of duty as
Sculptor-In-Residence of Mount Rushmore National
Memorial has lived, worked and lectured in both America and Europe.
Currently the artist is
dividing his time between
France and the West of Ireland with the creative focus
on a new body
of work inspired by Noble Laureates.
Keem Bay on Achill Island is off the west coast of
Co. Mayo, Ireland. The Island
has a
history of attracting
artists, writers, poets, aging rogues, fiery spirits and
relentless musicians. The works of DJ Garrity inspired Irish America Magazine
to include the artist in their annual selection of "Top 100 Irish
Americans".
