"Within every creative idiom one finds a range of endeavors that
inform,
encompass and at times define a genre. Literature is
a prism into this
train of thought, as it sorts out the human experience
with hard hitting
journalism, prose, playwriting and poetry. The form of sculpture that
I practice involves the aesthetic of the human vestige emerging from
within a block of raw stone. The emphasis is upon creating a portrait
or an intuitive work that projects emotional intelligence and upon first
glance, speaks directly to the heart."- DJ Garrity
